More Resources
The Pioneers of Personalized Education site offers a wealth of resources to support your learning and implementation, including a 2025 Summit subpage with any additional handouts or resources from sessions in Google format for your convenience.
WPS is the largest district in the nation to use a Competency Based System (CBS) throughout all of its schools and its educators are regarded as experts in the field.
Under the guidance of noted educator Robert Marzano WPS has pioneered the implementation of personalized learning in all classrooms and now incorporates Marzano's High Reliability Schools Frameworks in its schools. Every other year, WPS hosts a Competency-Based Education Summit that brings educators from across the country to Westminster to learn about CBS. In addition to targeted breakout sessions and inspiring keynote speeches, the three-day event takes visitors inside classrooms to talk with teachers and students about CBS. For educators and administrators, attending the Summit provides a unique opportunity to hear from real people who are benefiting from this personalized approach.
